Dayton on Tour

Dayton WA is on tour October 1st! Take a short drive out of town and enjoy Dayton's historic downtown with an art walk, art demonstrations, historic homes tour, fall festival, and fun fall games for the kids!

Sheep to Shawl

Sheep to shawl is a family festival that explores how out ancestors made their clothing from wool. This free event will delight the entire family.

Children will love seeing the sheep. Visitors will also enjoy demonstrations of wool carding, dyeing, spinning and weaving. Lace making and knitting on a vintage sock machine will also be demonstrated.

Local and regional vendors will offer handmade items for sale. Articles for sale will include a wide variety of woolen and fiber clothing, raw and ready to spin fiber, hand-spun and hand dyed yarns, and spinning weaving equipment.

Sheep to Shawl is on October 1st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kirkman House Museum which is located at 214 N. Colville St. in Walla Walla.

Art Squared

ArtWalla’s fourth annual  ArtSquared, scheduled for September 30 - October 2, 2016 will bring artists and art lovers together for a fun and exciting visual art event in Walla Walla. ArtSquared features 1000 6X6 inch works of art, each attractively priced at $36.  

Live music at the opening reception will be provided with food and beverages available for sale.

The event will also include a gallery show -- each artist participating in ArtSquared has the opportunity to enter one larger format work. The gallery show will remain at CAVU Cellars September 30th through October 30th.

This is ArtWalla's annual fundraiser with proceeds from the sale benefiting arts education in the Walla Walla valley.

Sausage Fest 2016



Mark your calendars for the Walla Walla Sausage Festival at DeSales High School. Rain or shine the fun will happen September 30th & October 1st. Come and enjoy the fabulous Food, Games and Entertainment.
For kids, there will be lots of games! Here are just a few of the fun filled activities you and your family can enjoy on Saturday: Inflatable structures, Dart Throw, Silly String, Baseball Throw, Ring Toss, Face Painting, Feed the Elephant, and many more!! Live music Saturday night by The Whiskey Creek Band.
The 14th Annual, Walla Walla Sausage Fest is Friday, September 30th, 5pm to Midnight and Saturday, October 1st, 11am to Midnight at the Desales High School, which is located at 919 East Sumach Street in Walla Walla.  Proceeds from Sausage Fest go towards capital improvements and technology at the Walla Walla Catholic Schools.

Tails & Tastings


Join Waterbrook Winery for an afternoon of fun and frolicking with your furry friends on Saturday September 24th! Waterbrook will be offering unique wine pairings that match perfectly with your pooch, as well as a dog agility on the tasting room lawn. The event begins at 1pm with on-site adoptions available through the Blue Mountain Humane Society.

Gran Fondo Cancer Benefit

Sign up now for the September Gran Fondo walking, cycling and fun run events, all to benefit the Walla Walla, WA cancer patient special needs fund.
The twelfth annual Providence St. Mary Gran Fondo, the "Great Ride" to benefit local people with cancer, will be Sept. 24.

The events begin in the morning at the Walla Walla Community College Dietrich Dome. Participants choose to walk, run or cycle and after their event, listen to music, purchase food from the WWCC Culinary Food Truck and more.The money raised from the event goes to the Cancer Special Needs Fund of Providence St. Mary Foundation.

This year, people also can fund raise through www.everydayhero.com/us/gran-fondo, a website that helps participants rally support and pledges from friends and family near and far.

Gran Fondo events include:

*5k Fun Run/Walk: The loop begins and ends at Walla Walla Community College with optional turnaround points at each mile. Check in at 10am and depart at 11am. Wear any and all the colors of cancer (the wilder, the better) to symbolize our purpose and celebrate survivors.

*35-Mile Bicycle Ride: The route loops through farmlands, orchards and vineyards. Check in at 9am and depart at 9:30am.

*62-Mile Bicycle Ride: A metric century through wine and wheat country. Check in at 7am and depart at 7:30am.

*WWCC Food Truck: 11:30am to 2:30pm. Food will be available for purchase.

*Welcome back and ribbon cutting for Clint Froke: 12pm (or whenever Clint crosses the finish line) as he rides from Canada to the Gran Fondo in a 24-hour period to raise money for the Cancer Special Needs Fund.

Registration
Cost to register is $25. Cancer survivors and kids 17 & under participate for free. The first 500 people to register will receive a special giveaway. Register or learn more at www.providence.org/granfondo.

Wine, food and music downtown
The Gran Fondo is followed by a separate event downtown, A Pairing on Main that also benefits the Cancer Special Needs Fund of Providence St. Mary Foundation.

From 6 to 8 p.m., participants stroll through downtown Walla Walla as they taste wine from an array of tasting rooms, paired with food from some of Walla Walla's finest restaurants and enjoy live music from Whiskey Creek. Tickets are $50 per person and only 150 are available online at providence.org/stmaryfoundation.

Corn Maze Opening Day


The Walla Walla Corn Maze is celebrating 17 years! This year kicks off September 22 and runs through October 31st. 

The Corn Maze is fun for the whole family. Bring a flashlight and enjoy this year's maze! Prices are children 0-3 get in free, children 4-11 are $5 and everyone 12 and older is $7. The corn maze only accepts cash or checks so come prepared. The Corn Maze is open Thursday-Friday 6 pm - 10 pm, Saturday 2 pm - 11 pm, and Sunday 4 pm- 9 pm.

The Halloween Spooktacular (scary corn maze) is $10 per person and happens the last two weeks in October.
